In life, there’s nobody who doesn’t need help. We all need help in one area or the other. The question is: Who do you run to when you need help? The only Person who you can be sure won’t disappoint you is God. As for man, he can disappoint you anytime. The Bible says, “Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD” (Jeremiah 17:5).

Some people seek help in places where there’s no help. In 2 Kings 1:2-17, King Ahaziah was sick and sent messengers to Baalzebub, Ekron’s god. But God said, “Because you trusted Ekron’s god and not Me, you’ll die.” And he died according to God’s word via Elijah.

Beloved, whenever you need help, look to God. The Psalmist says, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth” (Psalms 121:1-2). God is our present help in trouble (Psalms 40:17). If God won’t help, man’s help is vain (2 Kings 6:27).

God promises to help His children who trust Him. Isaiah 41:13 says, “For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.” If you’re not a child of God, repent and surrender your life to Jesus Christ before it’s too late.
