By Evang. Joachim P. Erameh

The word of God is dependable. It can’t fail because He watches over His words to perform them (Jeremiah 1:12). Isaiah 55:11 says, “My word… shall not return void, but shall accomplish what I please.”

God expects us to trust Him and obey His word. Like Peter in Luke 5:5, “Master, we’ve toiled all night… but at Thy word, I’ll let down the net.” Peter obeyed, and they had a net-breaking catch!

At Thy word means “Because You said it, I’ll do it.” No matter your situation, find out what God says, and do it. Obeying God’s word brings blessings and fulfilment. Examples:

  • Isaac sowed in Gerar and reaped a hundredfold (Genesis 26)
  • Peter found money in a fish’s mouth (Matthew 17:24-27)

God’s word for you might be: don’t worry, be patient, pray, forgive, give, help the needy… Like Peter, say, “Lord, at Thy word, I’ll do it.” God may ask you to do something unreasonable – like Naaman washing in Jordan or Peter fishing for money.

Disobedience leads to failure. Is there something God asked you to do? Obey today and be blessed, in Jesus’ name.
