By Evang. Joachim P. Erameh

When you’ve lost something precious and later found it, what a joy it brings! When the father of the prodigal son saw him afar off, he ran to meet and embrace him. He said, “This my son was lost and is found, and we began to celebrate” (Luke 15:24). There’s nothing that gladdens the heart of God more than soul winning. Hence, “there is joy in heaven over one sinner who repents” (Luke 15:7).

Jesus came from heaven to earth to seek the lost and reconcile them to God (Luke 19:10). As children of God, we are saved to serve. God expects everyone of us to go and look for the lost amongst our friends, colleagues, relatives, community members, etc., and bring them into the fold of Christ (Matthew 28:19-20).

Somebody found you and brought you to Christ, so you too should go and look for the lost and bring them to Christ (John 1:45-46). Jesus found Philip, and he in turn found Nathaniel and brought him to Christ. This is the way it works.

Dear reader, it’s a thing of joy to serve God together with your loved ones. How comfortable are you seeing people around you living a wayward life, and some dying in their sins? Of what benefit will it be to you to make heaven if some of your acquaintances don’t? So, go and preach to them and lead them to Christ (Romans 10:14-15).

If you’re not born again or have backslidden, repent and surrender to Jesus before it’s too late (2 Corinthians 6:2).
