By Evang. Joachim P. Erameh

In Psalms 34:19, the Bible says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” The word “righteous” in this verse refers to a child of God. There are three lessons we need to learn from this verse:

The first lesson is that being a child of God doesn’t mean you won’t have problems. The Bible says “many are the afflictions of the righteous”. The Bible has a catalogue of people who had problems and were delivered by the Lord, including Job, Jabez, Sarah, Hannah, etc.

The second lesson is that as a child of God, no matter how many problems you have, the Lord will deliver you out of them all. This should be enough comfort and encouragement to God’s children facing trials. The Lord will surely deliver you from all your afflictions in Jesus’ name.

The third lesson is that God knows all about our problems and trials. If He didn’t know your problems, how would He deliver you? God is omniscient; He knows your predicaments and is working to bring you out. He knows when to intervene and won’t let problems swallow you.

The Bible doesn’t say God will deliver everyone with problems. It says God will deliver the righteous out of all their afflictions. So, are you a child of God? 2 Peter 2:9 says, “The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations…” If you’re not yet a child of God, repent and give your life to Jesus before it’s too late.
