By Evang. Joachim P. Erameh
One of the methods employed by the Lord Jesus Christ to teach the word of God during His earthly ministry is parable. In Matthew 13:47-50, Jesus likened the Kingdom of heaven to a net that was cast into the river to catch fishes . According to Him, when the net was dragged out of the river, it caught a lot of fishes. Some of the fishes were good while some were bad. At the end, the fisherman had to select the good fishes into his bag and threw the bad fishes back into the river.
There are two very important lessons we need to learn from the parable of the dragnet. The first one is that there is going to be judgment on the last day. Hebrews 9:27 reveals that after death, there will be judgment. The second lesson that the Lord wants us to learn is that unrepentant sinners, like the bad fishes, will be cast into hell on the last day.
Dear reader, do not allow anyone to deceive you that there is no judgment . There will definitely be judgment on the last day. Hebrews 9:27 says, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
In conclusion, heaven and hell are real. Matthew 13:50 says there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth in hell. If you are living in sin, repent to avoid going to hell on the last day. Turn to God and experience His love and salvation .
