God is not and will never be like man. The Bible makes it clear that with God, there is no respect of persons. Romans 2:11 says, “For there is no respect of persons with God.” God is just and perfect in judgment. He doesn’t look at faces to pass judgment, but gives to everyone according to their deeds.
Colossians 3:25 says, “But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.” God doesn’t collect bribes to thwart judgment. Some people think they can bribe God by giving offerings, paying tithes, and supporting the work of God, but they’ve got it wrong. It is good to give to God, but He doesn’t really need your money. Obedience to God is better than sacrifice (see 1 Samuel 15:22).
God doesn’t look at one’s personality to give judgment, but gives to everyone according to their works. Revelation 20:12 says, “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”
In the world, it’s possible to buy judgment or influence the outcome of a court case, but not with God who judges according to every man’s deed. That’s why 1 Peter 1:17 says, “And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear.”
Also, in the world, there are criminals who are supposed to be in jail but are allowed to walk freely, whereas some innocent people are wallowing in jail. Recently, a man was released from prison in one of those advanced countries, having discovered that he didn’t actually commit the offense for which he was imprisoned. He went into prison as a youth, but came out as an old man. That is the world and its system of justice for you!
God’s judgments are perfect. When Ahab and his wife Jezebel conspired against Naboth, killed him, and took his vineyard (see 1 Kings 21), God didn’t spare him because he was a king. Also, when David, a man after God’s heart, killed Uriah and married his wife (Bathsheba) (see 2 Samuel 11-12), God didn’t sweep the matter under the carpet. God’s judgment is true and righteous (see Revelation 19:2). He will judge unrepentant sinners, no matter who they are, on the last day, unless they repent before then.
The Bible warns that “judgment must begin at the house of God” (1 Peter 4:17). Dear reader, did you know that the judgment of God is at hand? If you’re living in sin, repent and surrender to Jesus Christ before it’s too late.
Pray the following prayer of repentance and believe in your heart that your sins have been forgiven:
Dear Lord, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and fall short of Your glory. I repent of my sins and ask that You forgive me. Wash me clean with the blood of Jesus and give me a new heart. Help me to live a life that is pleasing to You. I surrender my life to You, Jesus. Be my Lord and Savior. Amen.
