Everything in heaven and earth is created by God. Silver and gold belong to God. Haggai 2:8 says, “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, says the LORD of hosts.”
Everything made of silver or gold has value. Those who have silver and gold in abundance can be said to be rich people. Genesis 13:2 says, “And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.” King Solomon also had silver, gold, and other things in abundance.
As precious as silver and gold are, there is something that is better than them. Salvation is better than silver and gold. Beloved, desire salvation more than silver and gold or riches, because it will lead you to eternal life. In the order of things, it is salvation first, before any other thing. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”
The Bible makes us understand that we were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver and gold, but with the precious blood of Jesus (see 1 Peter 1:18-23). To have silver and gold or riches without Jesus in your life is dangerous. Mark 8:36 says, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” It will profit nothing for anyone to have everything in this world and go to hell in the end.
Dear reader, you need to have Jesus in your life. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” If you are living in sin, repent and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Personal Saviour before it is too late.
