The Bible reveals that hell is a place of eternal punishment and regret. The greatest mistake anyone can make in life is to go to hell. It is an irreparable and costly mistake because of its eternal consequence. Matthew 13:50 says, “And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
The story of the rich man in hell is a serious warning to each of us. Luke 16:23-24 says, “And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am tormented in this flame.'”
God did not create anyone purposely to go to hell. 2 Peter 3:9 tells us that God is not willing that any should perish; hence, He gave His only begotten Son for our redemption. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
There is nothing on this earth that is worth anyone going to hell. Nothing of this world compares to the glory that awaits us in heaven. The things of the world are vanities. Do not allow the love of the world and the things therein to hinder you from going to heaven. Colossians 3:2 says, “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”
Dear reader, did you know that going to heaven or hell is a choice? The question is: Where will you spend eternity? In case you are living in sin, repent immediately and surrender your life to the Lord Jesus Christ before it is too late.”
Pray the following prayer of repentance and believe in your heart that your sins have been forgiven: “Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You with a humble heart, acknowledging my sins and shortcomings. I repent of my sins and ask for Your forgiveness. Wash me clean with Your precious blood and transform me into a new creation. Help me to follow You wholeheartedly and live a life that honors You. Guide me, strengthen me, and keep me in Your presence always. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.”
