By Evang. Joachim P. Erameh
The main reason why Jesus came from heaven to earth was to seek the lost. Luke 19:10 says, “For the Son of man is come to seek that which was lost.” As believers, we are expected to have the same mind with Christ. Jesus teaches that if one of your sheep is lost, you should leave the rest to go and look for it (See Luke 15:4-7).
The lost sheep are those who are living in sin, or have backslidden from following Christ. Before Jesus ascended into heaven, He told us to occupy till He comes. We are commanded in the scripture to go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). If we fail to preach the gospel, many souls would perish.
The Bible recorded that about three thousand souls were added to the Church when Peter preached to the people on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:14-41). You can imagine how many souls would be won into the kingdom of God if believers take evangelism seriously.
Dear reader, if you are living in sin, you are one of the lost sheep that Jesus came to seek. Jesus Christ is calling you today. He says, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Repent and give your life to the Lord Jesus Christ before it is too late.
