Marks are meant for identification. The type of mark you bear shows whose you are, or the camp you belong to. Galatians 6:17 says, “From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.”

The marks of Christ are what distinguish true believers from others. They are the fruit of the Spirit that believers are expected to bear, and which show that they belong to God (see Galatians 5:22-23). The Bible says by their fruits we shall know them. The Lord knows those who are His because they bear His marks (see 2 Timothy 2:19). The devil also knows those who are children of God because they bear the marks of Christ.

In Exodus 12:22-23, God commanded Moses to put the blood of the lamb on the lintels and doorposts of the houses of the Israelites. This was meant to distinguish the Israelites from the Egyptians and save them from destruction. Ephesians 4:30 tells us that God’s children are sealed unto the day of redemption. The marks you bear determines your salvation.

There is no sitting on the fence: it is either you bear the marks of Christ or those of the devil. Those who bear the marks of Christ are confirmed children of God. Their names are written in the book of life. Anyone without the marks of Christ is of the devil and will not enter the kingdom of heaven unless they repent.

Dear reader, what marks are you bearing? If you are living in sin, know that you do not have the marks of Christ on you. Repent and surrender your life to Jesus Christ before it is too late.
