By Evang. Joachim P. Erameh
“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy” (Proverbs 28:13).
There’s no hiding place for unrepentant sinners. They either repent now, or they will be exposed and shamed publicly on the last day. Mark 4:22 says, “For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.” Some people are very good at hiding their sins from their fellow men, but certainly not from God who sees everything we do.
When Achan stole a piece of Babylonian garment and buried it inside the tent so that nobody would know about it, God saw him. And God said to Moses when they cried unto Him for help against Ai, “Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff.” This shows that you can’t hide anything from God. In the end, Achan and his family were brought out and stoned to death. You can read a full account of this story in Joshua 7:1-26.
After Cain killed his brother Abel, he thought he could get away with it because nobody saw him, but God called unto him from heaven, “Cain, where is Abel thy brother?” Read Genesis 4:1-9.
Sin is an abomination to God. Sin separates man from God. Anyone who is living in sin is not a child of God. If you think you can hide your sins from God, or get away with them without repentance, you deceive yourself. Moreover, failure to repent of your sins before departing this world will lead to eternal damnation in the lake of fire that burns forever.
Dear reader of this tract, are you a child of God? Are you in the good or bad book of God? Nothing can be hid from God. If you are living in sin, repent today and surrender your life to Jesus Christ before it is too late.
Pray the following prayer and believe in your heart that your sins have been forgiven:
“Dear Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and that I have fallen short of Your glory. I repent of my sins and turn away from them today. I believe that You died for my sins and rose again on the third day. I invite You into my heart to be my Lord and Saviour. Forgive me, cleanse me, and make me a new creation in You. Amen.”
If you’ve prayed, take these steps:
- Find a Bible-believing Church (Hebrews 10:25).
- Live a holy life (Hebrews 12:14).
- Study God’s Word daily (2 Timothy 2:15).
- Be prayerful (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
- Focus on heaven (Colossians 3:2).
