The Lord God Almighty is our Healer. He is the Great Physician. There is no sickness He cannot heal. He has always healed us of our sicknesses and diseases. For He said, “I am the Lord that healeth thee” (Exodus 15:26).
Doctors treat, but they cannot heal. Whenever you’re sick and you recover, know that it was the Lord who healed you. It’s normal to fall sick, and it’s good to consult a doctor or visit the hospital whenever you are sick. But remember, doctors can only treat, not heal.
When God says, “I am the Lord that healeth thee,” He wants us to always trust Him for our healing. Whenever you’re sick, call upon the Lord to heal you. The Psalmist says, “O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me” (Psalm 30:2).
The Bible has a catalogue of people who were sick and God healed them of their sicknesses and diseases. God healed the woman with the issue of blood for twelve years (Matthew 9:20-22). He also healed the man who was sick with paralysis, whom his friends brought through the ceiling (Mark 2:3-12). The list is endless.
The Almighty God (Jehovah Rapha) is still in the business of healing people today. The Word of God heals. Psalm 107:20 says, “He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” Matthew 8:8 says, “The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.”
God has promised to heal us whenever we are sick, but on the condition that we hearken diligently to His voice. Exodus 15:26 says, “If you will diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD your God, and will do that which is right in His sight, and will give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon you, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.”
The major cause of sicknesses is sin. If you don’t know, sin opens the door for sicknesses and diseases to come into our bodies. Jesus said to the man who had an infirmity for thirty-eight years, “Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon thee” (John 5:14).
Beloved, are you sick in any part of your body? Psalm 34:19 says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivers him out of them all.” The Lord will heal you today, in Jesus’ name. But if you’re living in sin, repent and surrender your life to the Lord Jesus Christ before it’s too late.
