It is only a fool who says there is no God. You can tell a fool by the words of their mouth. The Bible tells us that the fool says in his heart there is no God (Psalm 14:1). To be foolish is one of the worst things that can happen to anyone. Fools reason upside down; they lack the knowledge to make them wise.
The height of foolishness is when one believes there is no God. The foolish in heart say there is no God because they lack understanding. Proverbs 15:7 says, “The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish does not so.” A wise person will never argue about the existence of God. Both nature and creation have made it clear that there is a Supreme Being in charge of the universe.
The foolish in heart do not believe in judgment or life after death (see Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:15). To the foolish, the Bible is a mere storybook put together by jobless people and taught by jobless people. Psalm 53:1 says, “The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, and they have done abominable iniquity: there is none that does good.” The continuing fulfillment of Bible prophecies is living proof of the existence of God.
A fool lives his or her life anyhow without thinking of the consequences. To the foolish, everything about this life will end in the grave. Therefore, why bother himself or herself about a God that does not even exist in the first place? God will judge the foolish on the last day. Psalm 74:22 says, “Arise, O God, plead your own cause: remember how the foolish man reproaches you daily.”
I read the story of an atheist who, while on his sick bed, was feeling the hotness of hell around him. He shouted and shouted till he passed on. Dear reader, do not be foolish. Acknowledge God in your life. Fear Him and obey his commandments. Proverbs 9:6 says, “Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.”
