By Evang. Joachim P. Erameh

The confidence we have in God is that whenever we pray to Him, He hears us and will answer us. 1 John 5:14 says, “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us.” As children of God, we should have confidence in Him the same way little children have confidence in their fathers. When you hear a little child say ‘I will tell my daddy,’ he or she is indirectly saying ‘I trust my daddy.’ Our confidence in God should be strong and unflinching, knowing that He always hears our prayers. Whenever you pray to God, believe He has heard you and will answer your prayer. 1 John 5:15 says, “And if we know that he hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” God expects us to trust Him whenever we pray. The Bible says ask and you shall receive (Matthew 7:7). Psalm 50:15 says call upon me in the day of trouble, and I will answer you.

But how do you pray? In faith – trusting God for an answer. Jabez prayed and God granted that which he requested (1 Chronicles 4:9-10).

Dear reader, do you have confidence in God concerning your prayers? If you trust the Lord, nothing can hinder your prayers from being answered apart from sin. The Psalmist says, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me” (Psalm 66:18). If you are living in sin, repent and genuinely give your life to Christ.
