The only assignment that God gave to believers is to preach the gospel and win souls into His Kingdom. Mark 16:15 says, “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” God, our heavenly Father, is a businessman. His business is soul winning. 2 Peter 3:9 makes it clear that God is not willing that any should perish. Ezekiel 18:32 says He has no pleasure in the death of any sinner. John 3:16 tells us that He gave His only begotten Son for the salvation of our souls.
The Lord Jesus Christ did the Father’s business as an example for us to follow. During His earthly ministry, He went about preaching the gospel and healing the sick (see Matthew 9:35). He said to His parents, “Why are you looking for Me? Don’t you know I must be about My Father’s business?” (see Luke 2:41-49).
The early apostles also did the Father’s business (see Acts 6:2-4). After Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, they went everywhere preaching the gospel. They did the Father’s business with great joy. Acts 5:41 tells us that they rejoiced that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for Christ’s sake. Verse 42 says, “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they cease not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.”
Dear reader, are you a child of God? If yes, are you doing the Father’s business? Are you preaching the gospel? If you are preaching, how committed are you to this assignment? Our Father’s business requires urgency in order to save the perishing souls. Do not go to the Father without a single soul to greet Him.
