Evang. Joachim P. Erameh
It is believed that anyone who attends church is a Christian. However, this is not true. There are many people who claim to be Christians, but are not true Christians. This is not trying to judge anyone, but it is the stark reality.
A Christian is a true follower of Christ. What we have in the contemporary church is a mixed multitude. The Bible says by their fruits we shall know them (Matthew 7:20). The kind of fruit you bear will tell whether you are a Christian or not. When the people of Antioch saw the way the disciples of Christ were living their lives, even after the ascension of Christ, they christened them Christians (Acts 11:26).
Dear reader, the way you live your life will tell the people around you whether you are a Christian or not. It will determine what name they call you. Even though some people claim to be Christians, the people around them see them differently. You are not a Christian yet if you still find pleasure in sinning (see 1 Corinthians 6:9-10).
The end shall tell who is actually a Christian. Matthew 13:29-30 says, “But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.” On the last day, nominal Christians will be separated from true Christians, and the former will be cast into hell.
It is either you are a Christian or you are not. It is not only by attending Church that we become Christian. If you claim to be a Christian without being born again, repent immediately and surrender your life to the Lord Jesus Christ before it’s too late.
