In life, every action has its consequence. Sinning has a lot of consequences. Romans 3:23 makes it clear that the wages of sin is Death. There are three types of death namely spiritual, physical, and eternal deaths. Anyone who is living in sin is spiritually dead without connection with Jesus Christ, the author of life. Physical death is when a person is no more alive, but has given up the ghost. Eternal death, which is also known as second death, occurs when a sinner dies without repentance and is separated eternally from God.
In John 5:14, Jesus said to the man who had infirmity for thirty-eight years by the pool of Bethesda, after He had healed him, “Sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.” The advice of Jesus Christ to this man tells us that the problem he had, from which Jesus delivered him, was as a result of sin. The truth is that most problems in life are attributable to sin. Some problems that we encountered could have been avoided if only we had stayed away from sin.
It is unfortunate that we are living in a world where sin is gradually becoming a norm. People commit sin openly these days without seeing anything wrong with what they are doing. Some sinners will tell you everybody is doing it, and so what? Point of correction: everybody is not doing it. Even if everybody is doing it, that does not make it right in the sight of God. The Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of sin, but spared Lot and his family because everybody wasn’t doing it (See Genesis 19:1-30). Sin is an abomination unto God. Habakkuk 1:13 tells us that the Lord is of purer eyes than to behold evil, and cannot look on iniquity.
Sin separates the sinner from God and makes him or her susceptible to satanic and demonic oppression. Dear reader, if you are living in sin, you are not under the protection of God. Anything can happen to anyone who is not a child of God. The worst thing that can happen to anyone is to go to hell at the end of this world (See Luke 13:3). There is nothing on this earth that is worth anyone going to hell. If you are living in sin, repent now that you still have the opportunity and give your life to Jesus Christ before it is too late.
