By Evang. Joachim P. Erameh
There are two types of people in this world: those with hope of eternal life and those living without a purpose. Which of these two do you belong to? Some people only want to live for this world and don’t care about the hereafter. But the Bible says, “What shall it profit a man, if he should gain the whole world and lose his soul?” (Mark 8:36). Such people don’t know God, or have time to serve the One who created them. The Bible warns that all people who forget God shall be turned into hell (Psalm 9:17).
Those who are yet to accept Christ are living without a purpose in this world. If they die without accepting Christ, their coming to this world will be in vain. The Bible says, “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most miserable” (1 Corinthians 15:19). The rich man in the Bible who went to hell lived for nothing.
So, what is your hope? Jesus is the hope of glory. He is the Author of eternal life (Acts 3:15). He gives eternal life to all those who accept and follow Him to the end. Jesus says, “Anyone who forsakes everything and follows Me shall have eternal life in the hereafter” (Matthew 19:29).
Dear reader, do you have hope of eternal life, or are you living without a purpose? If you are not born again, repent and give your life to Jesus Christ before it is too late. “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).
