“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” — John 3:3
To be born again is to be a changed person in Christ. It means to be a new creature. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
You cannot be born again and remain the same person you were before coming to Christ. Something must change in your life. When you see a real born-again child of God, you do not need anyone to tell you.
Hence, Matthew 7:20 says, “By their fruits ye shall know them.” You are either born again, or you are not.
The term “born again” has been abused. Some people think they are born again simply because they go to church or bear Christian names. That is fallacious and delusional. The truth is that there are more sinners in the church today than true believers—born-again Christians.
You cannot claim to be born again and continue living in sin. 1 John 3:9 says, “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.”
John 3:3 says, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” This means that except you repent of your sins and give your life to Jesus, you will not enter the kingdom of God, let alone see it.
Dear reader of this e-tract, are you born again? Are you a child of God? If you are living in sin, repent and give your life to Jesus Christ. Be born again today, because tomorrow may be too late.
Prayer of Repentance
Pray this prayer aloud and believe in your heart:
Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again for my justification. Forgive me of all my sins. I turn away from my old life and surrender my life to You today. Make me a new creature in Christ. Come into my heart and be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for making me born again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
If you have prayed this prayer and believed in your heart, your sins have been forgiven.
