By Evang. Joachim P. Erameh
There’s a tendency for people to worry when problems come. Normal, being human. In these hard economic times, many worry. But 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
Worrying won’t solve problems – it’ll make them worse. Worry can shorten life and hinder goals. Matthew 6:27 says, “Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?” Worry’s a devilish weapon to make you lose control.
If you worry a lot, stop now. What’s the problem making you worry day and night? Take it to the Lord. Dears, take burdens to the Lord and leave them there. He can deliver you. He cares and feels your pains.
To “cast your burden” (1 Peter 5:7) means hand over problems to God and stop worrying. Do these:
- Pray to God about it. Don’t stop till He intervenes (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
- Add fasting to prayer. Some problems need fasting (Matthew 17:21).
- Believe He’s heard and answered (Matthew 21:22).
- Study God’s word to build faith (Romans 10:17).
May you find rest in your spirit as you take burdens to the Lord, in Jesus’ name.
