Oh! How sweet it is when one’s dream comes true. Barack Obama’s dream of becoming president came true against all odds. On February 10, 2007, Barack Obama announced his intention to run for the office of President of the United States. Mr. Obama didn’t stop there; he contested in the Democratic Party presidential primary and won the nomination for the 2008 US presidential election. To cut the story short, Mr. Obama was elected the first African-American president of the United States. He served as president for eight years.
At a time when many thought it was impossible for a black man to become US president, Mr. Obama believed otherwise. In one of his interviews, he said, “You choose to listen not to your doubts or fears, but to your greatest hopes and highest aspirations.” If Obama didn’t let fear of the unknown hinder him from achieving his dream, you too can achieve yours if you believe you can.
We have a lot to learn from the 44th president of the United States. Whatever drives a person determines their altitude in life. Your mindset determines whether you become somebody or nobody. The Bible says, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7).
It’s not good to live without aspiration. It’s like living for nothing. You become what you dream, not what you never dreamed of. It’s never too late to dream. The Bible says, “The end of a thing is better than its beginning” (Ecclesiastes 7:8).
Beloved, you can become anything in life if you don’t let circumstances dictate your path. Many successful people today weren’t born with a silver spoon; they had a dream and pursued it with determination. If you have a dream, what are you doing to achieve it? What you become tomorrow depends on you. People look at what you became, not what you could’ve been.
Dear reader, dare to dream and become someone to reckon with. Stay determined, work hard, and take a step of faith. In John 15:5, Jesus says, “Without Me, you can do nothing.” Whatever your aspiration, you need God’s help. Pray and ask God to help you. If you’ve been blessed, share this with your friends!
